I'm currently reading The Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren. I think I've started reading this months ago but never got to finish it. It's not that I didn't have enough time, maybe I was just too lazy to continue reading it. I said to myself that this time I want to finish the book especially now that my mind's in turmoil :)  Well, I need some enlightenment and I hope that the book will guide me to it.

What do I really want?

I just want to live the live I envisioned myself to have. I hope I can attain it.

To be continued….

Goodbye and Hello….

Monday, November 19, 2007

My beloved MAXI passed away…just this morning! I usually call out her name every morning before going to the office…that’s everyday..never a day passed by without me calling her or patting her head or greeting her. She wags her tail and jumps around whenever she hears my voice. She has always been like that..very energetic, full of life.

This morning, I called her name and she didn’t move. I thought that she was only sleeping. Then, I left home. I was already in the office when I knew that she passed away because my mother sent me a message. She said that she was supposed to be feeding her breakfast but she’s already dead. I was at my post that time and I couldn’t help crying..so I did. I just couldn’t accept it because I nurtured her, taken good care of her and loved her. I still do. No one can ever take her place.

I had her since 1999. She was a gift from one of my officemates on Valentines Day. She was a happy and playful puppy then. Before that, I never had a dog that I can call my own. I tried to raise one but since I didn’t know much about dogs then, most of them died. I learned from that experience. I’ve brought her to vet so many times in the past because I was afraid of losing her. She was my baby. She is my baby….my Maxi, my Max, my MicMic, my MicMac, my Miki.

I know she felf too how much love I have for her. I was her slave. She was my master. I did my best to take care of her. We treated her as a family member. I know my family is kinda sad, too.  It’s just not easy to accept that she’s not with us anymore. I’m really, really sad:(

I love her with all my heart. And now, whenever I think of her, I really feel like crying. I’ll never, ever forget her. Sometimes, I think of not having dogs anymore for the fear of losing them in the end. Death is inevitable…but that shouldn’t keep me…or else I’m going to miss the joys of nurturing another life..the life of a small creature who loved me unconditionally. Hayyy….

I wish that I’ll find someone like her…I’m looking for one..the very exact image of her. I’m going to call her MAXI …again….

Am I being so melodramatic over a dog?

Yes, I am.

…because I love her…

Love knows no boundaries, anyway…

MAXI, don’t worry…in a few months…you’ll be in my arms again. I Love You!

2nd step..accomplished!

Saturday, November 17, 2007

My request for a US Visa was approved. It has been bugging me eversince I scheduled for an interview online last October. I asked myself what if Iwon't be approved? But I chose to stay positive despite of some negative thoughts about it.

Yesterday, I arrived at the US Embassy around 5:50 in the morning. When I got there, a long line of applicants was already formed. My schedule was 7:30am and by 6:15am, some of us were inside the Embassy having gone through the usual security check and presentation of some documents. We were fingerscanned and after that, waited for our interview at 8:00am. The consul who interviewed me was male and he looked nice enough than the one who was serving  Window 5.  While seated and waiting for my turn, I was observing the applicants being interviewed. I was actually relaxed the whole time since I've been in different job interviews before though this one was different.

My turn came and I was queued to Window 8. I greeted the consul 'hi, good morning.' He asked me, 'how are you?' I replied, 'I'm good.' Got that one from Suby (Suby thanks!) Generally, the interview went well, he didn't ask me to show him any documents at all. He asked me if my brother is a US Citizen and told him 'he will be, on April next year'. I kept on leaning forward to the Window since I really can't hear him well. Then he asked me how much my monthly income is (I didn't expect this question, actually), so I told him. He asked me how can I support myself in US with my income, I said, 'Oh, but I have my own savings' (got the OH from Taj hehe..joke). The interview took 4 minutes only based on my calculation then he handed me the yellow paper which says that 'your visa application has been approved.' So I proceeded to the pavillion to make arrangements for the delivery of the passport and the Visa, then I went home. By 10:30am, I was already at home.

I'm glad that I'm through with it already 'cause now I can make plans on what my next step will be.

Sunflower

Sunday, November 11, 2007

I have re-watched this movie by KRW since I loved it when I first watched it. The movies' title is Sunflower. His acting was really good. Unfortunately, the ending's kinda sad.

Here's the synopsis:

Tae-sik, who cleansed up the neighborhood back alley with his bare knuckle after dropping out of high school, is released on parole. The once sacrificial sheep of Tae-sik’s frank Min-seok has become a detective and Tae-sik’s henchmen friends have turned on each other’s back. As if have forgotten the old days he shared with them, Tae-sik only does what he wishes to do, which was written down on his crumpling small scrapbook. Tae-sik finds a warm shelter in the small neighborhood food joint ‘Sunflower’, where Tae-sik handed his scrapbook to its owner before. Tae-sik tries to live a quiet new life with the lady who runs the restaurant and her daughter, Hee-ju. However, nobody believes him but the owner and her daughter of the ‘Sunflower’.

My Christmas Tree

I wanted a white 6ft christmas tree this year, instead I bought a brown/orange one. My mother opted for this color. Well, for a change I agreed. One can really feel the spirit of christmas when you're in malls. Also bought decors since I only have blue christmas flower decors and blue balls for our usual green christmas tree. This time, I chose the orange/gold/brown decors and ribbons. We're supposed to ask for the saleslady to help us make the ribbons (since I'm no expert in ribbon making..) unfortunately, she was busy making one for the other shoppers. I told my brother I'll just try to make one myself.  I love to decorate a christmas tree. I get excited by the different colors and that you can choose what color motiff you'll decorate it with.

Anyway, here it is. I like over-decorated trees. My brother and I made the ribbons.  For next year, I'm planning on a pink or gold motiff.

my top 5 countries

Here are the top 5 countries I want to visit someday…..

1.) Philippines- of course, my first stop should be this wonderful coutnry. I live here and yet I haven't gone to these beautiful places. I haven't explored it yet. There's so much to see and learn.  Through trials and devastations, she keeps on standing. Many have formed their own shortsighted ideas about her, many have looked down upon her…and yet, they never knew a thing about her.

2. ) India- eversince India has fascinated me. I want to experience their rich culture and their way of life.

3. ) Mexico - for me, this is an exotic country with great sceneries and beautiful people.

4. ) Spain - I think of this country as peaceful and romantic where you can lead a quiet life and a place to settle in.

5.) US

love, love…watching…

I was just at home during All Saint's Day. A day before that, Ferna and I went to Megamall to look for some books. She was looking for a Chicken Soup for the Soul book but didn't find any at Booksale. It's supposed to be her gift for Fatima according to her. Then we proceeded to buy DVD's at St. Francis but we had our lunch first at Chowking. She was then able to find the book there for P350, I think.

She bought Baywatch & Heroes (seasons 1 and 2) while I bought Heroes (s3), CSI (s3) and Prison BReak (s3). So for the next four days, I just watched these dvd's. I'm really hooked with Prison Break! Since S3 is just new the dvd that I bought was only until Ep5. The episodes are all good and keep you wanting for more. Actually, I recommended it to Ferna and I'm sure she'll love it, too. Sara died in S3 huhu:( I love her character and the love story between her and Michael. To find out more about it since I can't accept that she really died, I checked the PB forum and found out that she's pregnant that's why she needed to be casted out. I hope that her character will bring back to life once she delivers her baby and for the writers to think of a way to re-live her character. The SONA episode was really, really good! Another series that I have completed watching was Criminal Minds. I think, I like this more than CSI. Heroes is what I haven't finished yet though yeah, I've heard from others that it's really good.

Yesterday? Since I got nothing to do too yesterday, I've tried to watch movies online. I watched Millionaire's First Love in Cinematube while downloading episodes of a series in VeohTV. This is the first time that I watched a movie online since I find them so slow sometimes due to connection speed or something. I was planning to watch The Shining last All Saint's Day but the dvd that I bought was defective. I read that it was the scariest movie ever…(I love horror flicks) plus Jack Nicholson is the lead actor in that movie. Well, I downloaded it too, and hopefully I can watch it tonight…(I'm anticipating the thrill of just being frightened…)

Love, love…movies, drama, series….

Si Manong Driver

Tuesday, October 23, 2007

Kakarating ko lang ng office…I took a cab from MRT North and fortunately, may naka-park na isang EMP cab and sinakay niya ko. Everytime talagang pag sumasakay ako ng cab eh I'm very cautious. Si Manong Driver naka-gloves pa (iniisip ko since mahilig ako sa crime stories, usually kapag naka-gloves ibig sabihin they don't want to leave their fingerprints..hehe) tapos, may katabi pa siyang gray na bag. So ginawa ko I reached for my bag and got hold of the tear gas can na binili namin ni Taj, para I'm prepared. He was actually nice and meron akong mga bagay na natutunan sa kanya, in that short time.

I was never asked that question before and ni hindi sumagi sa isip ko yung tanong na yon kahit kailan. Tapos nun he started na to quote some verses in the bible, what it means and all that. Then he asked me, bakit daw namamatay ang tao? Sagot ko naman, it's because maybe human beings are not really meant to live forever, na we're not born immortals, etc..basta, okay yung usapan namin ni Manong. I appreciated his preaching though siyempre, the usual thing, he claimed that his religion is the right one…and I cannot question his belief.

Nga pala, in the beginning medyo na-guilty pa'ko when he asked me, nagbabasa raw ba ko ng bible, sabi ko before pero ngayon hindi na. Sabi niya, we should read the bible daily..binreakdown niya pang yung mga hours that we usually spend sa mga activities natin. That we have 24 hours in 1 day, we have to eat, take a bath, go to office, do house chores, to make chicka, magpaganda etc..why don't we allot at least 15 or 20 minutes to pray raw and it doesn't really require much of our time.. grabe, na-guilty ako.
